Search&HighlightWorks with Internet Explorer Versions 4, 5, 5.5 and 6.
How to use:
Click the link below to search this page – right-click the link and choose 'make favorite' to use offline:
Findit!
For more sophisticated use pull the favorite into your IE link-bar.
On a webpage:
- mark a term you want to search and hit the Findit!-Button – all occurences of the search term will be highlighted in the document.
- when nothing on the page is marked, hit the Findit!-Button to pop-up a search dialog. Fill in a search term and press 'ok' – all occurences of the search term will be highlighted in the document.
If you repeat this, the second and third term will be highlighted in different colors.
Try single characters like: 'e', 'n', 'a' or 't' first to get an impression of the functionality. Especially useful in long documents.

Features and Limitations:
- original script found at www.bookmarklets.com.
- link will work in 'favorites' or a sub-folder of 'favorites', it will work in 'links' but it will not work in a sub-folder of 'links'.
- search will work on single pages as well as frames, it will not work in nested framesets.
- search allows 3 terms, highlighted in 3 different colors – you may search for more terms, but each new term (4th, 5th, etc.) will be highlighted in the same (3rd term) color.
- search is not case-sensitive, 'word' will find 'word' as well as 'Word' or 'WORD' or any term that contain the string 'word'.
- blanks in search terms are supported, 'foo bar' will work if you search for exactly that term with the combination of the two words.
- search terms in URLs get highlighted without destroying the URL.
- number of occurences is shown in status-bar.
- to clear highlighting simple reload the page.
